Sara Petrey recently retired with over 30 years experience in three tax appraisal districts around the state.  She is looking forward to joining Greg in there upcoming RV adventures.

Greg

Greg Petrey currently serves as the Executive Director of the Tarrant County 9-1-1 District.  Before being appointed Executive Director, he served as Assistant Director for Operations and as interim executive director.  Prior to his service in Tarrant County, Petrey held similar positions in Brazos County where he was also the public safety communications manager for Bryan and Rural Brazos County and the Potter/Randall County Emergency Communications District in Amarillo.  While in Amarillo, he brought 9-1-1 from a dream to a reality.

 

Before becoming so directly involved in 9-1-1, he worked for the City of Canyon as the Building Official and Fire Marshal.  As a volunteer fireman, he served as the department’s training officer.  During his nearly 40 year career, he has attended literally hundreds of hours of specialized training in the public safety field.  While in Canyon, he earned a degree from West Texas State University, now West Texas A&M.  He also earned a Master of Science in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL.  He has just been accepted into the Doctor of Science program at Jacksonville State University.  He also holds certification as an Emergency Number Professional (ENP) through the National Emergency Number Association.  Additionally, he received the Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation in 2014.
